How to Write a Good Vision Statement

A vision statement plays very important role in every organization, and it is where the organization will be. A good vision statement is written to answer the question “where the organization or company will be”.  A good vision statement should cover the following the characteristics and written with the following types:
A. Characteristics
(1). A good vision statement must be future forecasting. It should clearly indicate where it will go in the future.
(2). A good vision statement must be clear and visible. The prediction where it will go in the future must be clear and depend on the fact.
(3). A good vision statement must be audacious or daring. It is related to showing a willingness to take risk in determining where to go in the future.
(4). A good vision statement must be descriptive. It must be a single sentence or phrase that is simple, short, clear and easy to understand.
(5). A good vision statement must be with time-bounded or time frame. It has to be clearly shown the exact period, and this can be 5 or 10 years future planning.
B. Types of vision statements
(1). A good vision can be written with quantitative or generative nature. This can be written with the amount of expected money. For example, To get profit of 10 million dollar in the year of 2015
(2). A good vision statement can be written with competitive nature. A good vision statement can be written in a competitive form. For example, To be the heart of every body in the world in the year of 2017
(3). A good vision statement can be written with the superlative form.  For example, To be the best of car manufacturing in Asia in the year of 2018
Although these are the main criteria for writing a good vision statement, it is required to put much consideration of people, process and perspective in order to be successfully.
