How to Manage Your Time

Time and tide waits no for man

Every body has to manage his or time to some extent whether it is at home or work or both. The consequence in which he or she performs the tasks on every day basis has a profound effect. Most people have the capacity to manage their time better, and doing so making the working more productive and leisure more fulfilling. These ways of managing efficient time include:
First, it is related to understanding your time. By analyzing the time on daily usage, it is possible for you to understand the most efficient way to use the time both in and out of work.
Second, it is related to analyzing your time. People’s attitude towards time is complex and variable. If you want to use your time efficiently to accomplish all what you need to do at work and home, you need to be aware of the current habits and attitudes that shape your use of time.
Third, it is related to changing attitudes towards time. People’s attitudes to time are constantly changing. Many of these changes are due to the advent of the new technology which affects their work, travel and communication. The increase in options available such as internets, e-mails or modems made it possible for them to do more in a day, but has also increased the pressure on their time. This makes it all the most important to use their time in efficient and productive ways.
Forth, it is related to using time wisely. Every body is increasingly to be aware of the cost of the time. In many organizations, working long hours is equated to with working hard. If you leave on time, others may think you are not pulling your weigh. In fact, working long hours decreases the efficiency and productivity. Ways of using time become habitual, so the initial investment of time is to re-think and improve these habits.
Fifth, it is related to managing queries. A manager who is constantly interrupted has little time for important tasks, while staffs who always consult with their managers for decisions and information are held up. To achieve this, it is required to use planning and delegating to minimize time-wasting at every level.
Sixth, it is related to assessing your day. There are always competing demands on your time. It is very easy to spend too much time on routine things such as reading mail, chatting, or calling. Do you waste a lot of time? Think of this!!!!!
Seventh, it is related to costing your time. It is the way to calculate how much your time costs and then realize how much of it not is being spent effectively: Cost per hour/60 second = Cost per minute or (1.5 x Annual salary)/Working hours per year = Cost per hour
Eighth, it is related to keeping your time log (time table). Maintaining a time log of how much you spend on a particular activity is fundamental to manage your time effectively. Compile a simple time log by dividing your day into 30-minute chunks and recording exactly how much time you spend on the useful and unnecessary tasks.
Ninth, it is related to reviewing your time. Make a list of things to do and update it several times a day or look at your time log at wasted time and think of ways to fill those timeslots more constructively in the future.
In short, the time is really necessary for every body, and he/she has to exactly know how to manage his/her time, and this time management could be (A). Ideal time allocation: 60% for routine tasks, 25% for ongoing projects, and 15% for planning and development or (B) Actual time allocation: 60% for planning and development, 25% for ongoing project, and 15% for routine tasks.
