Most people think that whatever people get from day to day is the reason of destiny, and they depend mainly on idolatry. When people can not win the nature, they begin thinking of the God, and then they said this is the fate or destiny. Relatively, they also think that when those people live in a poor condition, this comes from their past deeds. In fact, poverty does come from the destiny or fate, but its root lays with the person him or herself. According to the Bulletin of Cambodian Mekong University, it announces that there are five main causes of the poverty, and these include:
(1) The poverty comes from ignorance: Ignorance means lack of information and knowledge of something. Some people do not care for what happens from day to day, and they just satisfy what they have and are doing presently. They do not take their time to study or even listen to the information that is related to the changes of the world and technology. Because of these reasons, it makes those people become poor in knowledge, property, and information.
(2) The poverty comes from apathy: Apathy means lack of interest, enthusiasm, concern, or indifference. Some people are not interested in doing anything except earning money to sustain their family form day to day. They are so worried about their stomach, and they are so busy to find the way how to earn more money. This can lead to poverty because the world is moving from day to day, but those people run after the world all the time.
(3) The poverty comes from illness. This is the main cause of poverty and no one can avoid it. Being a human, we have to prepare ourselves in advance in order to prevent from this cruel enemy. We can do something such as clean living, doing exercise and doing anything related to good health.
(4) The poverty comes from laziness. When people are lazy, nothing can make him or her successful except poverty. Laziness is the root of poverty, and it does not only destroy that person but also the society. The society that is full of laziness is filled with robbery, theft, and poverty. To achieve this, we have to set our own way and try to transcend any barrier that is faced by us.
(5) The poverty comes from illiteracy. Illiteracy means unable to read or write. Those people who are unable to read or write are confronting poverty. These people can read or write and they do not know what to do today and where to go to-morrow. On the other hand, if they try to learn and improve their capacity, they will actually win their wills.
